About the CDIRM Project

In 2009 the American Institute for Yemeni Studies (AIYS), acting on behalf of partner American overseas research centers (AORCs) and their umbrella organization, the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), was awarded a four-year matching grant by the U.S. Department of Education's Technological Innovation and Cooperation for Foreign Information Access" (TICFIA) program to support a collaborative project to digitize selected collections of international research resources held by international partners in order to provide access to this rich vein of previously inaccessible material via the internet. Work on the project, known as the Cooperative Digitization of International Research Materials (CDIRM), started in October 1, 2009.

On this site, you will find information concerning the purpose of the project, as well as information bearing on its current status, accessible through the links at the top of the page.

As digital materials created by the project become ready for public access, they will become part of the databases and text collections maintained by the Digital Library for International Research (DLIR), a program of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers.
